Spend your first long weekend of summer at our annual Memorial Day Celebration in Senoia on May 24th. Food trucks will keep bellies full and DJs spinning live music will have you grooving to the beat. Kid-friendly activities make this an evening the whole family will enjoy. Once the sun sets, fireworks will illuminate the night sky and put a twinkle in your eye.

Although Memorial Day has evolved into a day of celebration, it’s important to acknowledge the true reason for its observance – to honor and remember the courageous members of our armed forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.

Get ready for the very first Newnan Porchfest on May 31st, where Downtown Newnan comes alive with music, art, and community spirit! This free, family-friendly festival transforms historic porches into stages for local and regional musicians, while vendors line the streets with handcrafted goods, art, food, and more.

Benefiting The Newnan-Coweta History Center, the event also features garden walks, kids’ activities, and even welcomes dogs to join the fun.

VIP experiences are available, making Porchfest a can’t-miss celebration of culture, creativity, and hometown charm.

That’s right! Experience a lively evening of music, food, and community every 2nd Thursday of the month at Greenville Street Park, where live bands set the tone for a night of fun with food trucks and local vendor booths. Family-friendly activities and entertainment means kids can enjoy a night in the town just as much as mom and dad!  

Many of the shops and restaurants in the downtown area stay open late, offering special deals and discounts so that going out doesn’t mean breaking the bank.

At our Summer Wined-Up event on June 20th from 5:00pm-9:00pm, you’ll have the opportunity to imbibe in wines at 30 host locations without leaving the states. Host locations will feature hors d’oeuvres and a variety of whites, reds and specialty blends for guests to sample.

Whether you prefer to wet your whistle with a dry white or savor a spicy red, guests are sure to find a vino they vibe with. While tasting is the main event, drinkers and non-drinkers alike are welcome to take part in the evening’s festivities.

Not feelin’ cheesy? Wing it instead with an order of 6-100 flats and drumsticks. They have 11 flavor options, including all the classics, but when in Georgia, you gotta go with Lemon Pepper.  

Senoia, or rather, Woodbury, as it’s known in The Walking Dead, has been a primary filming location for the show since the series’ third season. Get a look behind the scenes with a tour around downtown Senoia. You’ll see iconic locations such as the Alexandria Safe-Zone, The Governor’s Residence and the Train Tracks.

Self-guided tours are available, but we highly recommend guided tours as many guides have behind-the-scenes connections to the show.

And don’t you worry, there’s no need to swing through Starbies. They’ve got coffee, too, and plenty of it!

Put a creative spin on your weekend by signing up for a pottery workshop at Mudhaven Pottery Studio. Just bring yourself and your friends: the workshop includes all the supplies you’ll need to learn basic wheel-throwing techniques and create up to three pieces (Patrick Swayze not included). Once you’ve crafted your masterpiece, select your favorite glaze color and Mudhaven will take care of the rest.  

Please note: Pottery pieces will be ready for pickup in 6-8 weeks, just in time for your next girls’ trip!
