The Chattahoochee Valley Poultry Association is located in Newnan Georgia, where each year in February, we host the largest show in the southeast. We strive to offer a top quality show and to provide activities to pass the time while everybody is waiting on the judges to finish. We get a lot of support from the membership, the community, and local businesses to bring our show together each year and we really appreciate everyone for helping us get to where we are today. In addition, the CVPA in cooperation with the Newnan Kiwanis Club hosts an open show at the beginning of the Coweta County Fair each year, we then focus our efforts on the 4-H Poultry Chain where we hold a show solely for the juniors. The CVPA provides members of the 4-H Poultry Chain baby chicks in the spring for them to raise and show at the fair where they are judged in accordance with the poultry standards. Its a fun and educational experience that helps teach responsibility and gives the kids a chance to see how a real poultry show works.
Our junior program has grown beyond our expectations and we are enjoying every minute of it. We have many junior members and they are a big part of our success, you will see them at every club function from setting up the show to playing games at the annual picnic, building the floats for the various parades the CVPA takes part in and much, much, more. We take great pride in our junior program and will continue to help them pursue their passion for poultry as they help us with ours.
